Configure the posting branch
Choose how Drypowder determines which Spruce branch a payment posts to.
Drypowder posts payments to Spruce under a specific branch, and there are two ways to control which branch is used. This setting is configured under Settings → Integrations → ECI Spruce in the AR operator portal.
The two options
Post to the invoice's branch (default)
With this option selected, Drypowder looks at the branch recorded on each invoice and posts the payment to that branch. If a payer submits a payment that covers invoices from more than one branch, each portion of the payment routes to its corresponding branch.
This is the right option for most dealerships. It keeps branch-level GL reporting accurate without requiring any manual configuration.
Post to a specific branch
With this option, you enter a branch ID, and Drypowder sends all payments to that branch regardless of which branch the original invoices came from.
This is useful when a dealership's Spruce configuration routes all online payments through a single clearing branch, or when all AR for online payments is managed centrally.
How to change the setting
- In the AR operator portal, open Settings from the left sidebar.
- Select Integrations, then ECI Spruce.
- Under Posting branch configuration, choose either Post to invoice branch or Post to specific branch.
- If you choose Post to specific branch, enter the branch ID.
- The form saves automatically.
The change applies to the next posting you run. Previously posted settlements are not affected.
If you are not sure which option to use
Contact your Drypowder implementation contact or check with whoever manages your Spruce GL configuration. The correct choice depends on whether your Spruce setup uses per-branch accounts or a single central clearing approach.
