For paying customers

FAQ for customers paying a supplier — getting access, paying invoices, payment methods, and your account.

Questions from customers paying a supplier through Drypowder. If you run a dealer AR team, see the FAQ for AR operators.

Getting access

Is this invitation email legitimate?

Yes. Your supplier has moved to an online payment portal and the invitation comes from the portal on their behalf rather than from their own email address. If you would rather not click a link in an email, ask your supplier for their payment portal link directly, or scan the QR code printed on your statement.

How do I set up my account?

Open the invitation and choose to create a new company. Your name and address are pre-filled from your supplier's records where we have them, and you can correct anything that looks wrong. Enter your postal code, pick your city, and create the company. Tax ID is optional and you can skip it. Once the company exists you land straight on your invoices.

Do I have to give my federal tax ID?

No. The tax ID field is optional and you can leave it blank.

Paying invoices

What is the difference between Last Statement and Total Balance?

Last Statement shows the invoices on your most recent statement, with everything pre-selected so you can pay the statement in full in one action. Total Balance shows everything you owe, including invoices raised since that statement was issued. If you want your full outstanding figure, use Total Balance.

Can I pay by job instead of invoice by invoice?

Yes. Your invoices are grouped by job, and you can search for a job by name, open it, and select just the invoices belonging to it. The running total at the top updates as you select. You can also switch to the Invoices view to see one flat list instead.

Can I pay part of an invoice?

Not today. Each invoice you select is paid in full, so you cannot put $500 against a $1,000 invoice. Partial payments are on the roadmap for a future release.

You can still choose which invoices to pay, though. Select only the ones you want to settle and leave the rest for later.

Do I have to pay everything at once?

No. Deselect anything you do not want to pay and only the invoices you have selected are charged. Use Show Breakdown before checkout to confirm exactly which invoices and credits are included in the payment.

Can I apply my credits when I pay?

Yes. Credits appear alongside your invoices and you select them the same way. The total at the top reflects the credit, and Show Breakdown lists the invoices and credits going into the payment.

Can I download copies of my invoices?

Yes, invoices can be viewed and downloaded as PDFs from the portal.

Payment methods

How do I add a bank account?

Two options. The recommended one uses Plaid to sign in to your bank, which verifies the account instantly so you can pay right away. Alternatively you can enter your routing and account numbers manually, but then you wait for a micro-deposit with a code, and you have to come back and enter that code before the account can be used. Both routes exist for fraud prevention; Plaid is simply faster.

Can I have more than one bank account or card on file?

Yes, you can save multiple payment methods and choose which one to use at checkout. Dealers report customers doing this to keep business and personal accounts separate, for example when a builder is paying for their own home build.

Are my payment details stored securely?

Yes. Card and bank account numbers go directly from your browser to Moov, our payment processor, not through Drypowder. Drypowder keeps only the last four digits and the card brand or bank name so you can recognize the method. After the first time, you select a saved method at checkout rather than re-entering details.

Your account

My address is wrong. Can I fix it?

You can correct it on your portal account, but the change does not travel back to your supplier's records. Let your supplier know separately so they can update their system too.

Can I give my bookkeeper or office manager access?

Yes. Once your account exists, you invite them yourself from within the portal. Your supplier approves one person per account, and that person controls who else gets in, which keeps your financial information under your control rather than theirs.

Still need help?

Contact your supplier directly. They have full visibility into your account and can answer questions about specific invoices, credits, or balances faster than anyone else.
